PSRA Waiver and Online Safety Course

1.  Another waiver for rowers and coaches!

We were just notified that PSRA has implemented an electronic waiver, similar to what you/your parents completed for US Rowing.  Please have your parents complete the waiver for you at https://www.regattacentral.com/regatta/waiver.jsp?job_id=3425&org_id=0  You will be asked for the Club Name (“Academy of Notre Dame Rowing Club”) and then your last name and date of birth.  Your parent will then be asked to complete contact information and ultimately check the box for the waiver.  Coaches, this applies to you as well.

This notification came to us this morning, but they want it signed before Sunday’s 2nd Manny Flick, so please get it done asap.

If your record cannot be retrieved by last name and date of birth, please email Mr. Mannion (jmannion@mannionprior.com) and copy Coach Annie, because PSRA may have incomplete or incorrect information. We have updated the roster since early this week so if you had trouble earlier please try again and let us know if it still doesn't work.

2.  Online Safety Courses

Pennsylvania passed the “Safety in Youth Sports Act” and the “Sudden Cardiac Arrest Prevention Act”.  All student athletes, athletic administrators and coaches are required by PA law to complete an online CardiacWise and ConcussionWise Course. The Notre Dame Athletic Department has subscribed to the required courses via Sport Safety International.  If you did not play a winter sport, then you must take these courses.

Here is the website for you to access the courses. http://www.sportsafetyinternational.org/notre-dame-de-namur/  Scroll down and under the “athletes” section, click “Enroll Now”. Once you set up your account, you will be able to access the two required courses for student-athletes: -CardiacWise & ConcussionWise (please note: you are not required to take HeatWise).

Please make sure you complete these courses ASAP; the school has said no athletes may participate in spring sports if the courses are not completed.  They take about 1 hour.
